Personal post 11

These are some of the views I got to see in Cuba. The first is just a typical picture i took while going to the pool in Matanzas. Its awesome there because everybody spends their days outside, so you always get to interact with a lot of different people. The next is a picture from my balcony, where we got to watch the sun set most nights. The last is a picture of the newly renovated pool we were at. I was really happy it was an outdoor one since then I got to work on my killer tan!

  1. That's so exciting you went to Cuba. We need to talk about what you did!
I understand you went with diving, but was it with the friends for a vacation or for like, a competition? I feel like Cuba is a random place to go for diving.

  2. Yes please! I feel like people are getting annoyed with the amount that I'm talking about it but it'll be awesome to compare stories :) and it was for a training camp because Dive Canada gave them money to build a pool. I guess because of their political system right now they were having an issue getting money. In exchange we got to use the pool for free and got a really good price on the accommodations... So it was about as expensive as going to Regina for a week :P and way cooler! How did you like it when you went?

  3. Wow Cuba, I am jealous Morg. What was your favorite part of the trip? Did you get to swim in the ocean, or only in the pool? I wonder for a training camp if you had enough time to really learn about and enjoy Cuba. I've never been anywhere hot, am I missing out?!

  4. My favourite part was probably meeting Jose, Leno, and Torro. They were really unlike anyone I've ever met before because, well, they've been to the Olympics. But they also weren't cocky about it, and were super humble. Like they would never bring up the fact that they were some of the best divers in the world, and would compliment us on our diving which was awesome. Also, they live way differently down there, and everything's really relaxed. Like they didn't mind spending the day with us when our bus didn't come, even though I'm sure they could have been doing something else. I feel like I got to enjoy some of Cuba, and I probably learned more about it than I would have if I had just been staying on a resort, but I wish I had known more about the revolution and everything. It's definitely an experience I would recommend! If you get a chance though I would probably stay somewhere local so you get to experience what it's really like! AND I did get to go in the ocean :)
